From scattered spreadsheets to decisions on a map
Most teams already have the data. It sits in Excel sheets, KMZ files and email attachments. I turn it into a spatial system that stays current, and add the satellite view where ground data runs out.

Roman Sizo
I am a GIS and Earth observation specialist with more than 25 years of work in remote sensing, satellite image processing, spatial analysis, GeoAI and machine learning workflows, and geospatial infrastructure.
My career runs from EU water and flood directive work in the Danube Delta, through burn severity mapping from orbit, to geospatial analysis for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Kyiv and support for humanitarian demining with Norwegian People's Aid. Alongside that I have worked with companies such as Signify, conservation organisations such as WWF, and development contractors such as Chemonics.
OznakaGeo takes its name from the Ukrainian word ознака: a sign, an attribute, a feature. In GIS, every feature carries its attributes. The job is to make them mean something.

What does OznakaGeo do?
OznakaGeo is a GIS and Earth observation consultancy run by Roman Sizo in Valencia, Spain. It builds spatial data pipelines, satellite-based change detection, risk and exposure maps, location analysis and recurring dashboards for companies, insurers, water authorities, humanitarian agencies and conservation organisations.
Do you work with clients outside Spain?
Yes. Most work is remote, for clients across Europe and internationally.
Our data is in Excel and KMZ files. Can you work with that?
Yes, that is the most common starting point. I clean and geocode spreadsheets, merge KMZ and field survey data, and build a spatial database or ArcGIS Online setup that you can keep using.
Which satellite data do you use?
Mainly free and open missions: Sentinel-1 radar (SAR), which sees through cloud and at night, Sentinel-2 and Landsat optical imagery, and VIIRS night-time lights. Commercial high-resolution imagery can be added when a project needs it.
Can you help with EU Water Framework Directive or Floods Directive reporting?
Yes. I have worked on both directives, including river basin data and flood hazard and flood risk mapping, and can prepare spatial data and maps for reporting.
